I am a fourth-generation native of Šiauliai, and I am proud of it. My city has given Lithuania many bright and wise people who bring recognition to the country, strengthen its foundations, and spread the message about Lithuania to the world.
I graduated from Secondary School No. 12, where music and culture were actively nurtured. I shared the same desks with actors Ilona Balsytė and Darius Oželis, as well as singer Gintarė Skėrytė. Later, I studied journalism at Vilnius University, where a colorful world of culture and cinema opened up to me. The magic of film drew me in and has never let go. Nearly 30 years ago, I attended the Cannes Film Festival for the first time, and today I feel there like a longtime insider.
I raised my son Jokūbas — my pride and support. My love for nature and roses comes from my grandmother from Šiauliai. I have never left Šiauliai behind: my relatives live there, and my grandparents’ homestead is cared for there. Working in television, I feel that I carry out a meaningful mission — introducing viewers to culture, to the traditions of European and Lithuanian cinema, and encouraging people to love their homeland and preserve its roots.
