I am Rita Regina Trimonienė – I grew up in Šiauliai and attended XI and J. Janonis secondary schools. For many years, I worked at the Šiauliai Pedagogical Institute and the then Šiauliai University. As a Doctor of Historical Sciences, I helped train future historians of our city and region (bachelor’s and master’s programs) at ŠU and contributed to the management of the old collections at the “Aušros” Museum. For many years, I have researched and continue to research the history of Šiauliai city, its district (pavietas), and royal economy in the 15th–18th centuries. Currently, I am a professor in the Department of Ancient and Medieval History at the Faculty of History, Vilnius University. Šiauliai will always remain the city of my youth and personal growth.
