On Saturday, May 30 at 16:00, we invite you to a lecture by architect Kristijonas Murauskas titled “Sanpō Yoshi – Triple Value in Architecture: People, Investor, City.”
ABOUT THE LECTURE
Architecture is often perceived as a dialogue between the creator and the client. But what if there is always a third voice involved?
In this upcoming lecture within the “Young Art” cycle, I will explore the Japanese philosophy of Sanpō Yoshi, the idea that every creation should be beneficial to the maker, the user, and society. Drawing on my own projects, I will discuss how architecture can move beyond aesthetics and function to become a balanced system of value.
From small interior solutions to large-scale concepts, this principle quietly shapes our design thinking. The lecture will connect cultural philosophy with real projects and show how timeless ideas can meaningfully influence contemporary creative practice.
The lecture is part of the Šiauliai Art Gallery project “Young Art: Cultural Resistance II.”
Organizer – Šiauliai Art Gallery.
Partners: Šiauliai Saulius Sondeckis Arts Gymnasium, Šiauliai Didždvaris Gymnasium, Šiauliai Stasys Šalkauskis Gymnasium, Šiauliai Art School, design house “wãpsva LT.”
The project is partially funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture and the Šiauliai City Municipality.
