World War I was a painful and significant event in the history of Šiauliai, halting the city’s development and changing its face. The exhibition invites visitors to view the history of the war from a different perspective: not only as a battlefield but also as a period of social and community processes, often left on the margins of history.
The narrative is based on testimonies of people who experienced the events of World War I and recorded them in memories or diaries — authentic first-hand stories.
