World War I was a painful and significant event in the history of Šiauliai, halting the city’s development and changing its face. The exhibition invites visitors to view the war from a different perspective — not only as a battlefield but also as a period of social and community processes, often left on the margins of history.

The story is based on testimonies of people who experienced World War I, preserved in diaries and memoirs — authentic first-hand accounts.
