World War I was a painful and significant event in Šiauliai’s history, halting the city’s growth and changing its face. The exhibition invites visitors to see the war from a different perspective — not only as a battlefield but also as a period of social and community life, often left on the margins of history.
The story is told through the testimonies of people who experienced the events, preserved in diaries and memories — authentic first-hand accounts.
