On February 13 at 5:00 PM, the Commemoration of the Restoration of the State of Lithuania and a screening of the film “Grąžinti nepriklausomybę” (Bring Back Independence, 2018) will take place at Rėkyva Cultural House.
In 2018 Lithuania, four signatories of the 1918 Act of Independence mysteriously appear: the down-to-earth Aleksandras Stulginskis (played by Ramūnas Cicėnas), Antanas Smetona, eager to become president in 2019 (played by Algirdas Dainavičius), the modest Petras Klimas (played by Martynas Nedzinskas), and the philosophical and patriotic Jonas Basanavičius (played by Gediminas Storpirštis). Warmly welcomed, the signatories soon begin pursuing their personal goals—until they learn that the Act of Independence they signed is currently in Germany, and that a reward of one million euros has been offered for its return. Upon learning this, the signatories set off for Berlin to retrieve the Act.
