“SAVI | Returns” – a concert series dedicated to the 790th anniversary of Šiauliai City, inviting audiences to meet talents whose creative journeys began right here in Šiauliai. It is not only a series of concerts, but also meaningful returns to the city where the first musical discoveries were made, laying the foundations for their artistic paths today. The series reminds us that Šiauliai nurtures talents who, through their achievements, proudly represent the city’s name in Lithuania and around the world.

On 26 September, accordionist Eglė Bartkevičiūtė will return to her hometown for a special concert at the “Saulė” Concert Hall. She is an internationally acclaimed performer whose musical journey began in Šiauliai. For this special evening, she has invited her long-time stage companions – one of Lithuania’s most distinctive musical creators, Saulius Petreikis, and jazz performer and guitarist Donatas Petreikis. Together, they will take the audience on an inspiring musical journey where improvisation, authentic traditions, contemporary creativity, and free musical expression intertwine.

Eglė Bartkevičiūtė is an accordionist, winner of international competitions, and an active performer in Europe and the United States. Her performances have been heard in prestigious concert halls and festivals in France, Italy, Germany, Lithuania, and other countries. In 2024, she received the prestigious “CMA Trophée Mondial” award and became the first Lithuanian musician to win the World Accordion Trophy. Her repertoire combines classical music, original works for accordion, and contemporary interpretations, while each concert becomes a sensitive and sincere dialogue with the audience.

Saulius Petreikis is a remarkable phenomenon of the Lithuanian music scene and one of the country’s most expressive creators. His music features traditional and archaic wind instruments, while his concerts are distinguished by their energy, emotional depth, and unexpected sonic discoveries. Inspired by Baltic and Scandinavian traditions, his work invites audiences on a colourful musical journey that captivates listeners of all ages.

Donatas Petreikis is a guitarist, jazz performer, and composer, actively performing in Lithuania and abroad. His music combines traditional and contemporary jazz language, improvisation, and original compositions, giving his performances a distinctive sound and vitality.

This concert is a meaningful return of Eglė Bartkevičiūtė to the city where her musical journey began and a unique opportunity to experience her performance together with her long-time creative partners Saulius and Donatas Petreikis.

Sometimes returning means more than coming back to the stage – it means returning to the place where dreams began. This evening invites everyone to witness one of these special returns.
