This year marks 30 years of friendship and partnership between Šiauliai and Omaha, USA. On September 8, this special anniversary will be celebrated through music, as ensembles and performers from both cities come together at the “Saulė” Concert Hall.

On stage:

  • University of Nebraska at Omaha “Jazz Combo”, artistic director and conductor Dr. Pete Madsen
  • Šiauliai Big Band, artistic director and conductor Raitis Ašmanis
  • VU Šiauliai Academy Girls’ Choir “Pavasaris”, artistic director and conductor Gediminas Ramanauskas
  • Soloists: Agnė Michalenkovaitė, Akvilė Staražinskaitė, Giedrė Krasauskaitė and Evaldas Vaikasas

A special highlight of the evening will be the Šiauliai and Omaha big bands performing together on one stage. Two groups of musicians from opposite sides of the Atlantic will unite for a shared musical experience, once again demonstrating that friendship between cities can be built not only through words, but also through music.
