On April 15 at 18:30, the Šiauliai Cultural Centre will present the contemporary dance group “Ulna” performance “Balcony”, dedicated to World Art Day.

This performance is a form of movement poetry that reveals the power of the environment surrounding us—an environment that shapes our identity and our interaction with ourselves and others.

It is an attempt to understand not only how we move, but also how the environment we inhabit influences us. How does a changing environment encourage the body and its possibilities of movement to change? How can the space we are in help create a relationship between the viewer and the performer? Why do we sometimes feel better in one place than another? Why can high ceilings sometimes feel oppressive, while a small space may inspire the most sincere conversations? The performance speaks not only about movement, but also about creating connections and about the environment that shapes and inspires us to act.

At the same time, it is an exploration in which the dancer’s body becomes a tool for experiencing space and better understanding the relationships between us. During the performance, viewers will not only observe the choreography unfolding before them but will also be able to move freely, feel the environment, and experience its influence.

We invite you to rediscover the space around us and explore it with open eyes together with contemporary dancers. What stories will we create and share with one another? It is a meaningful artistic experience that will enrich everyone.
